Happy Easter to all of our Sassy Bloomers.

These are a fantastic treat for little ones and something that they will enjoy helping you make.

See our two recipes – one using cornflakes the other using Shreddies.

Ingredients

225g plain chocolate, broken into pieces

2 tbsp golden syrup

60g unsalted butter

75g cornflakes

mini chocolate eggs (to decorate)

Method

Melt the chocolate, golden syrup and butter in a bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water, (do not let the base of the bowl touch the water).

Keep stirring continuously until the mixture until smooth and melted

Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the cornflakes until all of the flakes are coated

Spoon the mixture into paper cases (set in a cupcake lined tin) and add mini eggs to the top of each cake

Chill in the fridge until the chocolate has set.

 

We also have an alternative recipe using shreddies

Ingredients

150g chocolate

150g Shreddies

as many mini eggs as you want

Method

Break up the chocolate and melt either in the microwave or in a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water – making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water

Break the shreddies into bits – you can do this by rolling them in kitchen roll and banging them with a rolling pin

Add the shreddies into the chocolate and mix until all coated

On a baking sheet – spoon the mixture into mini nest shapes or place in the plastic cases in the cupcake baking tray

Add the mini eggs to the top and set in the fridge (for approx 20-30 mins)
